In February 2020, when COVID-19 became a global issue, #GA Telesis’s leadership team did not panic. The Company has been serving customers successfully for more than eighteen years and has seen several disruptive cycles in the aviation industry. As a resilient team, this unique experience positioned the team to quickly mobilize and provide the necessary support to our employees while not losing sight of our customers’ needs that were carrying much-needed supplies of medical equipment from the point of manufacturing to the end-users. Our innate resiliency was the catalyst that drove our ability to confront change and overcome the challenges presented by COIVID-19.
Many municipalities put travel restrictions and curfews in place to prevent the spread of the virus. The teams from #MRO Services Component and Composite, #Flight Solutions Group, and #LIFT located in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, locations designated as hot spots, worked each day without interruption to meet the requirements of our airline customers at the most critical time of need.
As the virus continued to spread, our team adjusted their work schedules and locations while juggling the obstacles presented due to school and daycare center closings. The Company offered work from home options to team members who could do their job remotely and required flexibility. We also scheduled two shifts for those who had to come into the facilities to do their job, reducing the virus’s density and potential spread. We added electronic temperature measurement devices that recorded everyone’s temperatures while also providing masks and sanitation stations throughout the building.
Our resilient team culture quickly adapts to the new reality, no matter how onerous. Not seeing aircraft flying and there being fewer passengers on flights has been difficult for the aviation industry. However, this has not stopped #GA Telesis from doing what was needed to support the commercial airline and air cargo industries. The #GA Telesis team understands what was on the line. It is that understanding that drives each member to make the personal sacrifice to do their part to assist during the COVID-19 crisis.
